How is the gold rate per tola calculated?
We take the live international gold price per troy ounce (31.1035 grams), work out the price per gram, multiply by 11.6638 grams for one tola and by the purity of the karat (24K is 99.9%, 22K is 91.67%), then convert to rupees with today's dollar rate.
Why is my local jeweller's rate different?
Bazaar (sarafa) rates in Pakistan include an import premium or discount and change a few times a day. Jewellery also has making charges and a deduction when you sell. Use this page to see the fair international value.
